Linda Murdock is the author of four books, an e-book and numerous articles on a wide variety of subjects. From her time as a shop owner in the printing industry, she learned photography, layout, typesetting and design, as depicted in her books and book covers. Her writing ability can also be seen in an article done for the Colorado History Magazine (Autumn 2005) on Frank Marugg, the inventor of the Denver Boot, past music reviews for the Colorado Blues Society, articles for the Independent Book Publishers Association and even a family genealogical calendar that traces her roots back ten generations in America. One of her proudest accomplishments is a twenty-six page scrapbook done in honor of her sister’s fiftieth birthday, which took over six months and a lot of tears to complete.

A Busy Cook’s Guide to Spices, How to Introduce New Flavors to Everyday Meals

Using culinary spices and herbs can expand your standard meal preparations and perk up your taste buds at the same time. Many people are afraid to use spices, fearing they may use too little or too much or combine the wrong two spices together. If you are bored with your current dinner selection, using a new spice or blend of spices will help you expand the flavor of your meals many times over. Go to the food section (for example, Corn), see the spices that go with Corn and then use one of the recipes to help you get started experimenting. The front of the book describes how to use the spice and the back lets you know which spice to use for each food.

More flavor along with smaller batches (18-32 cookies; 16 bars) make this ideal for those looking to reduce their sugar intake. Designed for today’s busy cook, no recipe takes longer than 35 minutes to bake. There are numerous substitutions to avoid running to the store, along with a Q&A section to help with problems.
